Best Family SUV Goes To Nissan Pathfinder

You may think of the Middle East as just another vast place with tons of sand and quite a few people. You may think of this place as an endless dry area with nothing quite exciting happening.

And if you think that way, you are most certainly wrong for exciting things also do happen here. And it is not merely an endless area of dry sand and cactuses. You see, this is the very area where the Automobile Magazine is widely read and this is also where readers and editors of the mentioned magazine has chosen the Nissan Pathfinder as the Best Family SUV in its set of awards for this year.

Yes, the Nissan Pathfinder now holds the title the Best Family SUV as given out by the Automobile Magazine. Although it did had to compete with other strong vehicle models available in the mentioned market, the Nissan Pathfinder's features did shine through and bested the rest. And at present, this vehicle is what the Middle East's auto industry considers to be the leader when it comes to midsized sport utility vehicles.

So who chose the vehicle to take home the title of Best Family SUV? Well, Automobile Magazine's set of editors from all across the Middle East took their time to judge and scrutinize all of the entries in the final list of nominated vehicles. And they were able to collectively decide that the Nissan Pathfinder with all its auto parts like the Nissan brake caliper is the one deserving to take home the award.

"Winning this award is a sensational achievement and just reinforces the pride that everyone in Nissan feels with delivering great vehicles. Nissan is committed to bringing automotive innovation and promoting the development of the auto industry. Since its introduction the new Nissan Pathfinder has successfully set a new standard in the family SUV segment and we are strongly confident that it will further excite the market and the drivers who want to own an SUV with high value-for-money, great road presence and superior comfort," affirms Adel Faidi. Faidi is the assistant manager for Nissan's Middle East Corporate Communications department.

Various Tips to Convert Your Car to Run on Electricity With Electric Car Kits

How does using electric car kit helps you convert your car to run on electricity alone and change its whole engine format? Car owners are starting to consider going for an electric vehicle due to environmental, safety, and financial reasons.

As conventional fuel prices continue to go up, people are now eyeing on the possibility of reducing the amount of expenses they put in gasoline and other car-related expenses. Consider converting your car from a car that does internal fuel combustion to one that uses stored electricity as an energy source.

Converting your car to an electrically-powered engine is too costly and the conversion cost is half the price of a brand new car. Now, you can actually do it on your own with the use of electric car kit. Below are practical tips and information on how you can actually do the changes to your car engine format right at the comfort of your own home.

Identifying the type and brand of car that you would like to use for conversion is the first and most important thing that you need to do. The perfect car would be the one that is not heavy and has plenty of room to allow the new engine to be housed in your car system. This is actually important because there are a lot of things that you need to consider when powering up the car such as providing power to the transmission system, gear, and the drive shaft.

The power needed to run an electrically-powered car engine comes from a motor that is supplied with powerful batteries that do all the work during car workout. These kinds of batteries are relatively cheaper and are available almost everywhere; so you will have no problem buying for one just in case you experience some problems during any of your transit.

There are other types of batteries that provide more kick to the entire car engine but are slightly costlier than the ordinary batteries used for electric cars. These types of batteries are made up of lithium ions and they are considerably lighter and longer-lasting. Remember that the entire system should be in sync with one another and that they are connected to one central control circuit. All these things are just some of the basic information and steps to help convert your car to run on electricity with the use of electric car kits.

A Beginner's Guide to 4x4 Suspension Lift Kits

You see them all the time: Light trucks, Sport Utility Vehicles, Jeeps, and more, coasting down the highway, sitting atop towering truck suspension lift kits and sporting a set of tires so big that a person could live in them. If you're the curious type looking to lift up your own rig, a more important question than "How do I get my ride to do that" is "Why should my ride do that?"

There are several reasons why people might customize their vehicles with suspension lift kits, as well as quite a bit to know before you get started. If you're a seasoned veteran who has conquered the most vicious terrains and knows your vehicle better than your own mother, there probably isn't much for you to learn here. On the other hand, if you're just getting started and want to familiarize yourself with the basics, read on.

Why should I lift my ride?

Glad you asked. Equipping vehicles with a suspension lift kits involves much more than buying the sexiest looking truck lift kit and then dropping your ride off at the local mechanic. Actually, chances are good that if that's all you plan to do, lifting your ride might not be right for you in the first place. Installing truck suspension lift kits requires some hard work, a bit of technical savvy and consistent upkeep and attention to your vehicle's components.

The first determination you need to make when considering suspension lift kits is what you want to do with it. There are essentially two main purposes for installing truck lift kits: style or function. Although the two are somewhat interrelated, it's still important to consider which purpose you most wish to pursue, as it will assist you in making the correct modifications to your vehicle.

Style:

Let's face it: Transforming a vehicle into a style statement has been a popular hobby ever since the advent of tailfins and flame decals. As much as we all might chuckle at a hybrid hatchback sitting on 18" wheels, or the family sedan with a wing that resembles the Seattle Space Needle more than a spoiler, we also find our own vehicles having fuzzy dice hanging from the mirror, or a bobbling hula dancer statuette on the dash. As far as style is concerned, adding truck lift kits makes more of an impression than anything else you can do to your ride. Heads turn instantly at the sight of a lifted rig with massive tires that appear to be sprouting fangs and an exhaust system that scares stray puppies into hiding.

When it comes to adding suspension lift kits to make a style statement, looking good is the easy part. Sometimes it's easy to overlook general, everyday performance in the midst of decking out a ride. For this reason, choosing the right suspension lift kit with attention to comfort, reliability, durability, safety, and not to mention price, should be given just as much consideration as those precious inches you want to add.

Performance:

So you've made the jump into tuning your rig for the off-road world, and you're ready to take the plunge to invest in one of many truck lift kits. But before diving headfirst into a custom truck lift kit and gigantic tires, there are a number of issues to address to ensure a correct setup. The first step is to ask yourself what you will be doing the most, whether it's slow-speed rock crawling, high-speed desert racing, general purpose 4 wheeling, mud racing, or long distance open country treks. From there, you can narrow down what you need to do in order to customize your vehicle to suit your needs.

Whether you're just starting out, or you're the experienced professional, tuning your rig for optimum off-road performance is an expansive hobby with numerous factors to be wary of. The possibilities are limitless, which can sometimes make it hard to determine exactly which suspension lift kits are ideal for what you want.

Where do I begin?

As if determining which suspension lift kits to purchase weren't complicated enough, installing truck lift kits can alter other components in your vehicle, sometimes causing unforeseen issues that could affect performance or be potentially detrimental to the vehicle itself. For example, drive shaft length, steering geometry, brake lines, highway performance and handling, gear ratios, and overall weight are just a few of the factors that could potentially be impacted by adding truck suspension lift kits.

Finding ample resources to determine what products you need can be difficult. Speaking with a mechanic can provide some insight. Reading factory service manuals, off-road magazines, internet message boards, manufacturer's guides, and a number of other resources can help as well. But by far the most useful way to determine what truck lift kits are right for you and your vehicle is to consult an experienced and knowledgeable person who has a vehicle similar to yours and uses it in the manner similar to what you want to do. Not only can such a person suggest the correct products, but also likely has experience with installation tips and general drivability.

In the meantime, here are some of the basic elements of suspension lift kits for you to keep in mind as you plan your modifications.

What does a Suspension Lift Kit do?

Clearance

For starters, one of the foremost reasons for installing truck suspension lift kits is to raise the height of your ride off the ground to enable steeper ascent or descent off-road, and higher ground clearance. In general, it makes sense that when driving over boulders, slogging through mud, coasting across the desert, or even just making your way through the occasional forest trail, higher clearance facilitates negotiating certain obstacles. This can often be a tricky bit of artistry to manage, as higher clearance also raises your vehicle's center of gravity, which can reduce handling.

Larger Tire Fitment

The general consensus suggests that larger tires equate to more traction, right? Well, not entirely. While larger tires may provide some improvement to traction in off-road conditions, there are other ways to improve a vehicle's traction that are far more efficient than simply bulking up the rubber. Aside from the obvious stylistic discretion, the main reasons for adding larger tires are for higher vehicle clearance for improved performance in mud, deep snow, rocks, and deeply rutted trails. Certain tires designed specifically for off-road conditions can improve traction depending on the circumstances, but the added clearance is the most immediate and direct benefit of larger tires.

Factors to Consider with Truck Suspension Lift Kits:

Installation: Many manufacturers offer manuals for installing truck lift kits onto certain vehicles; however, some installations are quite intricate, requiring some welding or cutting in order to add some necessary components. In this case, having a trusted mechanic or a few knowledgeable friends is the best resolution.

Additional Modifications: Upgrading to truck lift kits with taller tires also means that a number of components may require part upgrades or some tuning to compensate. For instance, a truck's engine is tuned at specific gear ratios to propel the vehicle. When adding taller tires, the gear ratios must be tweaked accordingly, since the engine has to spin much larger, heavier tires. Again, consult with more experienced individuals for further insight.

Highway Performance: Larger, wider tires can sometimes result in instability on roads or a noisy, uncomfortable ride, particularly at high speeds. Also, more aggressive off-road tires tend to wear faster on the highway, and traction might not be as great as you would expect on wet roads. In this sense, larger tires can sometimes be a gamble without any direction from an experienced off-road veteran.

Weight: larger tires are heavier, which can put a lot of strain on your suspension, particularly if it's a stock suspension. Trusted, durable suspension components and lighter aluminum wheels can sometimes help to reduce the strain.

Handling: Adding truck suspension lift kits will undoubtedly raise the vehicle's center of gravity, resulting in less stable turns. This is a common issue when installing truck lift kits, but is mostly just a matter of becoming accustomed to a vehicle's change in performance.

Legality: Some suspension lift kits are such a serious change in your suspension system that it may not be legal. Check the suspension regulations within your country, state, or province to be sure.

A Few Useful Accessories: Before installing a lift kit, it's a good idea to first examine if any components will be affected by your vehicle's new height. Here are a few useful accessories that may need to be upgraded:

Brake Upgrades: Stock brakes can't always accommodate larger tires, or will wear easily due to the added strain.
Drivetrain and Differential: Axles, gears, differential covers, lockers and more ensure that your drivetrain is up to par with your suspension.
Replacement Parts: Longer Control Arms and Track Bars to compensate for the additional height of your rig.
Shocks: For those taller lifts, longer shocks will ensure the smoothest performance both on and off road.
Other Parts: Steering linkage, slip yoke, drive shaft length, u-joint angle, and brake lines are all worthy of consideration before installing suspension lift kits.

Installing Suspension Lift Kits:

When it comes time to install a lift kit, there are two ways possible ways to go about it: install it yourself, or have a professional do the job. Naturally, each has its advantages and disadvantages, and when it comes to your rig, attention to detail is crucial. A general rule to follow is that even if you know you want a large lift, it's best to start with a small lift and work your way up. This allows you to work out any kinks and hindrances along the way to make sure your kit works right.

Do-It-Yourself

Even if you're not technically inclined, taking the time to learn the inner mechanics of your vehicle is a valuable experience that can save you time and money. An intimate knowledge of your rig can also allow you to make your own modifications to your vehicle if the need arises. There are numerous resources available that can usually guide you through the majority of the process; however, one must keep in mind that it's a lot to take in, and tweaking the intricate components of your vehicle is no small matter. It's always a good idea to have a second set of hands or an experienced individual assisting you.

On the downside, even with the increasing availability of bolt-on kits, installing suspension lift kits is no easy task, particularly if you're a beginner. Additionally, certain instructions or resources can sometimes be misleading or based upon the personal preferences of individual gearheads. Often times, after installing a lift kit you'll find yourself spending hours tweaking the other components of your vehicle to get them back to spec. That's a whole lot to take on, particularly if you're inexperienced.

Mechanic

A licensed professional installing your lift kit is typically the best way to ensure that suspension lift kits are installed correctly, so long as you're willing to pay the labor charges. A professional can perfectly tune your vehicle to your liking and see to it that all components are working as they should, all within a fraction of the time it would take even the most experienced gearheads to install it themselves.

On the other hand, as is the case with regard to any mechanic, it might be difficult to find one you can trust to install the kit properly while not overcharging you for any unnecessary parts. Also, if you're not a gearhead, anytime there's a functional deficiency or your vehicle needs minor tweaking, you have no choice but to return to the mechanic for service.

Suspension Lift Sizes:

Small: A small lift consists of 1.5 or fewer inches, and will grant you a little more clearance and room to run slightly larger tires. The most common way to gain a small lift is by using coil spacers in front and long shackles in the rear.

Advantages/Disadvantages: Small lifts are inexpensive and easy to install with very few complications.

Medium: A medium lift is roughly 2" of lift, and is a good choice for those looking for the best tire clearance, but aren't planning on doing any off-roading. Common medium-sized lifts use spacer and add-a-leaf lifts, and sometimes come with new shocks.

Advantages/Disadvantages: You'll notice changes in handling and performance: some good, some bad. You'll also need strong rear springs, and if you plan to use an add-a-leaf kit, later modification for more lift may be difficult, since add-a-leafs are designed to lift stock springs.

Large: The largest lifts consist of 3 to 4" or more for an aggressive look and the best off-road performance. A common large lift setup consists of new front coils and add-a-leafs in the rear, plus some combination of new front coils and new rear springs. These kits often include a matching set of shocks.

Advantages/Disadvantages: Large lifts are obviously the most expensive, and more complications are expected than with smaller lifts. On-road performance will also be affected, sometimes dramatically. But a large lift will transform your rig into an intimidating off-road machine that will stand out among a crowd.

Types of Suspension Lift Kits:

Spring Over Axle (SPOA):

SPOA suspension lift kits are most popular among serious rock crawlers looking for the utmost articulation (up and down wheel travel). These truck lift kits keep the tires on the ground for maximum traction, while correctly lifted springs lifts everything out of harm's way, including the springs.

Shackle Reverse (S/R) Suspension Lift Kits:

S/R truck lift kits are designed to provide a smooth ride upon mild terrain such as forest roads, desert driving, and scenic trails; however, high-speed driving on highways is not recommended.

Coil Suspension Lift Kits:

The choice of many of the world's best-riding 4 wheel drive vehicles, Coil Suspension Lift Kits offer unrivaled ride quality and cheaper springs, but installation sometimes requires some welding. The end result, however, is a suspension lift kit that provides excellent articulation on the trail, and a comfortable ride you have to feel to believe.

Lifted Spring Suspension Lift Kits:

The most commonly used type of truck lift kits in the world, Lifted Spring systems are easier to install, and an excellent choice for first-time lifters in the off-road world. These truck lift kits allow you to run larger tires for additional clearance, while producing control on the highway.

Shackle Suspension Lift Kits:

As probably the most affordable way to add inches to your rig, Shackle Suspension Lift Kits are primarily for the truck enthusiast looking to add larger tires, yet are not intending to do much hardcore off-roading. Moderation is recommended with these truck lift kits, as Shackle systems are known to affect steering and sway control.

Marketing a Truck Wash Business

Many excellent corporate marketers who are superstars in their own right will brain fart when given an unusual service to market. Let's take marketing a truck wash business; How would you go about marketing the washing of trucks anyway? Well when we ask corporate marketers this subject they usually bomb big time and they do not seem to get it.

You see so often they will immediately consider trade journals, direct sales or brochures mailed to the corporate owners of truck fleets? Well sure that will get some customers, but if you only had one or two or even 5 truck washes, that would be a rather wasted effort. Direct sales makes sense but you might be sending sales teams around the country as all these over the road trucking companies which might pass by your truck stops or truck washes are all over the place you see?

The best way we have found is to go to driver lounges and tell the drivers to drop this off with the dispatchers and ask them to give you their truck dispatchers names and phone numbers so you can call the decision makers directly. Contacting a huge corporate giant trucking company directly will never get you to the dispatchers phone numbers. You have to work within their corporate system, but trying to go thru the front door is a friggin disaster. So consider all this in 2006.

Should You Install Running Boards on Your Truck?

Adding running boards to your ride is an excellent way to increase the style of your vehicle, as well as providing a bit of assistance when getting into and out of the cab. Running boards are available for trucks, as well as SUVs, of all varieties. How do you know if you are making the right choice? You will find quite a few considerations that need to be made prior to purchasing a set of running boards for your ride.

Pick Your Poison!

Your first decision comes early on in the buying process. You will find two basic types of running boards - plastic boards with metal mounting brackets and plastic boards mounted to an aluminum chassis, or frame. Therefore, your first decision is which type you want for your truck. Here are a few pros and cons to each.

Molded Plastic - Molded plastic running boards are the most affordable solution out there. However, you will find that their maximum weight load is quite low; in fact, some of these are little more than decoration. Of course, if your truck is low enough to the ground that you don't need that extra step, then these can be viable solutions to your need.

Metal Chassis - Molded plastic boards mounted on a metal chassis offer much more strength and durability than do their plastic only counterparts. However, you will find that these are often quite a bit more expensive.

Find Your Fit

Not all boards fit all vehicles. Therefore, if you have a Ford F-250, you will need to find a set of running boards custom made to fit the vehicle. This ensures that the running boards mount correctly and that they conform to the dimensions of the vehicle. You will find a wide range of manufacturers that create custom running boards to fit Dodge, Chevy, Ford, GMC, Toyota and other truck brands.

Mounting Hardware

As with most other types of truck accessories, the type of mounting hardware used is of great concern. You will find some brands out there that utilize galvanized steel mounting hardware. However, you should consider purchasing a brand that uses stainless steel hardware. Galvanized steel hardware is durable, but after a couple of years out in the weather, it will begin to show signs of corrosion. Stainless steel lasts much longer and is therefore a better investment.

Can You Install Them?

The final question that you must ask yourself concerning any set of boards is whether or not you can install them on your own. Some will require that you remove the mudguards in order to install the boards, while other types stop short of the mudguards. Some brands can be successfully installed with the vehicle resting on the ground, while others will require that you put it on a vehicle lift. Professional installation is a great option, but it will certainly increase the cost of your boards and should be taken into consideration.

A Note Concerning UV Resistance

Running boards are made of high quality plastic. However, while the plastic is certainly durable, UV light can cause damage quite easily. You should ensure that the set you purchase is UV resistant, sometimes denoted as UV stable. This will help make sure that your running boards look great and hold up under real use for a longer period.

Slip Resistant Pads

One final concern should be the presence of slip resistant pads mounted to the running boards. These should be located directly below the doors and provide a bit of assurance against slipping on the plastic surface when it is wet.

Ford Pickup Trucks Custom Sound - Subwoofer Upgrades

Add Custom Bass to your Ford F-150 or Super Duty Pickup Truck

Lets face it, your ford F-150 comes with a stock CD player receiver but even
their premium sound system leaves a bit to be desired. It doesn't matter if you
drive a regular cab, super cab extended model or the crew cab, your truck has
wasted space that is just 'crying out' to be used.

Custom Bass Sound

Sorry, but any stock radio might provide the basic AM/FM plus a CD Player but
there is little to be said about the sound quality. Even the so called "premium"
sound systems lack real sound quality. The fastest and easiest way to add
quality sound to any Ford Pickup is to add BASS or a subwoofer to your system.
Of course when you start considering the size of the 8", 10" or 12" subwoofer
and the necessary enclosure, plus an amplifier to power that speaker, you start
really getting concerned about that space.

Ford F-150, F-250 and Super Duty Truck owners

This is very common problem faced by Ford F-150, F-250 and Superduty Pickup
Truck owners. They want Great Sound but destroying the interior of your new
truck is out of the question. Plus no one wants a huge box sitting on their back
seat. After all, you purchased the truck to enable use of the back seat.
Well, there are a few ways to handle this, all depending on your budget and your
specific model Ford pickup.

Custom Bass Subwoofer Enclosures

These new custom subwoofer boxes are
available in a variety of colors to match the interior of your particular
vehicle and so you don't have to compromise its cosmetic integrity. This is
especially nice for those who lease their vehicles and want to enjoy additional
bass without the added hassle of messy installations. The material used in these
custom enclosures is a high density polyethylene resin, which is resilient
enough to transform into various shapes, yet rigid enough to avoid flexing. It
also has enough density to dampen any resonance. Some models even come with
amplifiers installed within the unit. Many owners consider the amplified
versions to be the best deal. After all, you have everything hidden within
the enclosure and installation is fast and easy.

Use that Wasted Space in your Ford Truck

So you solve several problems at once. You keep your amp and subwoofer out of
sight of nosey people since the installed enclosure looks like it is part of the
original vehicle. These new style enclosures look like OEM equipment. They
provide a completely professional appearance for your Ford Truck. Plus you
manage to use all that wasted dead space.

MTX and Q Logic are probably the two best known manufacturers of these products.
Of course various model years have different applications. You'll find them
available for Ford F-150 regular cab, extended super cabs and crew cab pickup
trucks. They are also available for
Ford F-250 and F-350 Superduty models.

Increase the Resale Value of your Ford Truck

These custom enclosures will definitely increase the trade in or resale value of
your Ford F-150 or Super Duty
Pickup Truck. So the owner wins all around. Great sound while he owns the
vehicle and a fast resale when he is ready to move on. Of course the other
benefit is if your Ford truck is leased, you simply remove the custom box and
the truck is in perfect condition for return to the dealer.
So if you desire high quality sound in your new Ford Truck, check out the new
custom subwoofer enclosures for the best possible solution.

Car Engine Modification

In order to get every last bit of performance and horsepower from your vehicle, you'll require investing in some modifications. As modifications like wing spoilers, body kits, aftermarket breaks, and performance wheels all of these gives performance benefits to your car; merely setting up your car engine to the fullest will assist you to produce the horsepower required to increase your car over the rivalry down the strip or the street. The following are several well-known ways in how to modify the engine of your car and obtain the performance that you want badly:

• High Performance Radiators - An engine with high performance gives added power, and, as a result, added warmth. This radiator will be required to maintain its coolness. These radiators are made to manage a lot of pressure ranges and higher temperatures compared to OEM radiators. These will assist in keeping your engine performance protected from running smoothly and overheating regardless of anywhere you run your vehicle.

• Cold Air Intake - This can increase and boost the performance of your car engine by a considerable amount. OEM intakes pull in warm air from just about the engine bay, which reduces the capabilities of the performance of your car engine. By supplying a cold stable stream of thick air, the intake of cold air can provide you improved ignition, which provides additional power per stroke, zooming you down the street with superior pleasure.

Turbos and Superchargers -These could boost the performance of your car's engine to a deliberately superior level. Each method provides unlike benefits, and so it will require choosing the one that is right for your requirements. For example, a supercharger provides enhancements in the performance across a broad array of the power band. A turbo, alternatively, offers a performance greater at superior ranges on the RPM (on the whole, a supercharger is immense for the street, while a turbocharger is perfect for the track).

Custom Ignition System - This can work wonders for your engine. High-tension wires and spark plugs performance could put in horsepower into your engine. Additionally, timing that is advanced could also give you a push that is greater. Performance wires and plugs give more sparks; this is what drives the pistons and ignites the fuel inside your engine. When put together with the intake of cold air benefits, this system of custom ignition will provide you enormous boost in performance.

These are only a small number of car engine modifications that you'll be capable of doing consecutively to make the most of performance and power. Having the exact tools and a bit of assistance, you can increase the performance of your engine to unbelievable heights.

Custom Plush Toys and the Issue of Safety

Plush toys have got to be one of the most harmless looking toys out there in the market. I mean, who would be afraid of the cute little toy? Custom stuffed toys are no exception since they usually make them with the same intention in mind - to be cute and cuddly.

So what's all the fuss about safety? A lot of people are now getting concerned about toys nowadays. Toys being recalled certainly don't help the cause. Before, it wasn't really an issue, but with more and more people getting victimized by unsafe toys, you can't risk putting out unsafe toys in the market.

The U.S. government heeded our collective calls for safe toys. Yes, that includes custom plush dolls. While these toys generally look safer than a lead covered toy car, it still has to pass certain laws and restrictions. To protect the consumers, we now have the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act or the CPSIA.

As an inventor of stuffed toys, should you be concerned about the CPSIA? You're probably thinking that it's not your concern since you won't be manufacturing the toys. You're just going to use your idea. But that's where you're wrong. According to the CPSIA, the whole supply chain is responsible for the safety of the plush doll. Yes, that includes you as the toy inventor.

So what should you do? There are some things that you need to take care of. Make sure that all the paperwork is in place for your toys. Don't even think of falsifying them. Also, make sure to get all the proper safety tests done. In addition, make sure that each and every plush doll gets at least passing marks from a certified safety testing company.

So what's going to happen if you fail to do those things? You will be violating the CPSIA. That would mean hefty fines or even jail time. If you think I'm trying to scare you, you're right. I am trying to scare you so that you'll understand the repercussions if you produce unsafe plush toys. Again, you are responsible for the safety of your custom plush toys so learn how to stand by your product.

But don't be too concerned. There is one way to make sure that everything gets done according to the CPSIA. I understand that it's hard to stand by a plush idea if you need to do things that can easily overwhelm you. All you need to do is team up with a reliable manufacturer. They understand the importance of safety and are also responsible and would gladly assume responsibility with you. But because you have a partner that understands the law and the repercussions, if you break it, you'll have a less stressful time. They'll do everything to make sure that your plush idea will turn into a reality without breaking any safety regulations. This would mean less pressure on you so you can focus on the other aspects to help you succeed.

Randall Knives - Guide to the History of a Randall Knife Craze

Randall knives are well known for their fine workmanship and quality. The are now being made under the supervision of Gary Randall since 1989. The original Randall knife creator W.D. or Bo Randall died in December of 1989. The older Randall knives are worth five to fifteen times their value. They are an excellent investment. Randall knives are not mass produced. Every Randall knife is handmade with patience and care. Randall knives are used primarily by civilians but there are also knives for combat and survival knives.

Bo Randall started making his handmade knives as a hobby. He first found out about handmade knives accidentally in 1937. He saw someone using a handmade knife and was so impressed by it, that he bought it right there. It was a handmade Scagel knife. Scagel was a pioneer in making handmade knives. His knives were not well known back then, but Randall knew a distinctive look and quality when he saw it. Almost all knives were being mass produced at that time, so a handmade knife was a unique product.

From that moment on Bo Randall decided to make handmade knives that were just as good, or make the best knife he could. Before long he had a shop with a forge and spent a lot of time making knives that he would be proud of and use himself. Randall was an outdoorsman himself and so created knives that worked the way he wanted them to. They were very functional and simple in design. He started selling Randall knives through a clothing store and then to friends and sportsmen that heard of his knives.

When WWII began a sailor asked Randall to make a knife that could be used in close man to man combat. When his friends saw the Randall knife they all placed orders, then their friends and so on. A newspaper reported on the Randall knives used in combat and things went crazy. The hobby turned into a full time business. Orders were arriving addressed only to Knife Man Orlando Florida. It was tempting to go into mass produced knives with so many orders, but Randall stayed firm to his belief and made sure all Randall knives stood for quality and dependability. Especially when so many men in the war were writing him to say how the Randall knife saved their lives.

Truck Seat Slip Covers

Truck seat slipcovers serve the basic purpose of protecting its original upholstery. They are slipped on to the existing seat of the truck so that the original upholstery is not spoilt by daily wear and tear. Most truck drivers need to be seated for long hours. Good quality slipcovers may also make the driver comfortable.

It is recommended to choose a thick and rugged fabric for this purpose. Fabrics such as denim, canvas, chintz and linen all fall into this category and serve the purpose of protecting the upholstery against the wear and tear of daily usage.

It is advisable to select dark and neutral colors such as blacks and browns. This is so as to ensure that they do not look very dirty too soon. Fabrics in solid colors are preferred to those without any elegant designs, as they serve no purpose to cover a truck seat.

It is an important consideration that the fabric be capable of frequent washing and rough use. Materials such as leather and suede are not recommended for truck seat slipcovers. Such fabrics are quickly worn out by rough use.

It is also possible to create a new look in the interior of the truck, without spending much money, by making new slipcovers for the truck seat. Cost of a slipcover would amount to a mere fraction of the cost of a new seat.

Truck seat slipcovers are easily available in home stores where a wide variety is made available. It is also possible to order them online from the various websites. It is important to keep in mind that seats having simple shapes are easier to cover. In case the truck seat is oddly shaped and has an unusual size, the cover will have to be custom made or would have to made by the person.

Seat Cover Buying Guide

You may think your factory seats are holding up just fine. What you may not realize is how much abuse your seats are getting from wear and tear, sun damage, pets, or dirt and spills. All these problems have a simple solution, seat covers. So, why should you get a set of seat covers? There are many reasons. You can protect your factory seats, get a custom look for your interior, or cover up existing damage to your seats. They are also a great way to keep your interior looking new and clean.

But, how do you decide which seat covers are right for you? This reference guide will help you through the decision making process and make sure you get the seat covers that best fit your needs.

Protect Your Investment

Think about it, what do you have the most contact with in your vehicle? It's your seats, and they need to be protected. If your seats get dirty, or something gets spilled on them, it's a pain, and a hassle to clean them. Seat covers put an end to that. Most can be put in the washer and dryer so there is no need to buy expensive cleaning supplies to get stains and dirt out. If you have pets, you know it's a chore to vacuum the seats to get all the pet hair off them. What about their nails? You don't want them to poke through your new leather seats do you? A seat cover provides a protective barrier to keep your pets from scratching, or poking holes in your nice seats.

Another problem you face is UV damage. That's right, the suns powerful rays claim the lives of many seats. When the sun shines in your vehicle it is magnified by the glass from your windows. That's why it feels like an oven on hot summer days. Imagine what that does to your interior. If you have leather seats, the sun dries them out, which can lead to cracking, and a dull finish. That means you have to continually condition your seats to protect them. This can be time consuming and expensive, both which can be avoided with seat covers.

Don't think any of that affects you? Well, you get in and out of your vehicle every day. Even this has a negative effect on your seats. Every time you get in and out of your vehicle you create friction between yourself and the seat. This may seem like nothing, but after some time you will notice the material getting thin and worn out. Next thing you know, you've worn a hole through the material, yet another problem that can be prevented.

Get A Custom Look

Factory interiors are often boring and mundane. Vehicle manufactures use solid, neutral colors that make the interior seem more open. You can add flare and a look that really sets off your interior with seat covers. They come available in standard factory matching colors with solid patterns, or, you can get something that's different. We have many colors to choose from, as well as patterns that you won't find in a dealer's showroom. So, not only do you get great protection, but you also get a custom look and style, that really sets your vehicle apart!

Bring Your Old Seats Back To Life

It's inevitable, bad things happen to good seats. But you can do something about it. Whether or not you have worn out faded seats, they got stained, or dirty, seat covers provide a solution. They do just as they say, cover it up. Seat covers hide those unsightly stains and dirt spots and give your interior a fresh new look as if nothing ever happened. And, if the same happens to the seat covers, well, just wash them and put them back on. Think of how much money you will save by not having to reupholster your seats.

Now that we have identified why you should get seat covers, let's see what works best for you.

Fitment - Universal vs. Custom

Seat covers come in two primary fitment types: custom fit and universal fit.

Custom

If you are looking for a seat cover that is going to fit your factory seat perfectly, then a custom fit cover is what you need. These are custom made per vehicle application and fit your factory seat and shape very tightly. Custom seat covers take into account factory headrests, armrests, center consoles, and seat controls.

Universal

If you are looking for something you can throw on quickly and you're not too concerned with it fitting perfectly, then a universal seat cover will work just fine for you. The cover the entire seat back and bottom but are not designed to fit tightly as a custom fit cover would. These are great for quick on and off usage.
